Donated Auction Items - Free Tickets to 2009 World Series?

Ok, being from New York City, maybe that's just my own personal hope. With game 6 of the World Series fast approaching, many around the world are truly obsessed with baseball.Whether it is football, soccer, basketball, hockey, or cricket, when those seasons come around, we all know someone who gets the sports fever.People will do anything, even the unspeakable, to get tickets to big sports events. How can we capitalize on this infatuation at charity auctions?Maybe you can't get World Series tickets, but maybe you could get box seats to a minor league team in your area.Minor league sports teams are more likely to donate premium tickets and may offer a tour and a chance to meet a player. Many of the amateurs are only part-time players and are more open to publicity, really enjoying their new-found celebrity status.Even though they are minor-leaguers and more accessible to the fans, some go on to professional sports and become well-known.You may be able to acquire an individually signed ball from a major league team, but it may be easier to obtain a ball signed by the entire team in the minor leagues. If packaged with premium tickets to the game, and possibly a tour, it enhances the value of the item to the potential bidder. There are so many ways to do this.Just be creative.Besides just tickets, there are opportunities that may be donated, such as riding a Zamboni at a hockey game, sitting with a sports announcer at a game, throwing out a pitch, singing the national anthem, getting a personal announcement at a game, a phone call from a prominent player, getting to be a bat-boy or ball-boy, or sitting with the players. The ideas are endless and they are all unique, one of a kind experiences for the sports enthusiast.
